It can take 4-6 weeks, after eligibility review starts, for the BVL/PPR/Decision.
 
I too applied for my son students permit on 5 dec. Just medical passed on 15 feb. No up date after that. He is. 7 yrs old so no biometric for him. Its linked to my visitor visa application and my husband is in Canada on WP. We also have PR application in process. Mean while we also applied for my SOWP on feb 26 since processing time is 6 weeks. How can I link SOWP to my son student visa application ? Both are in different GC key. Though the status of SOWP is just medical passed on 19 march.
 
I applied on 3rd December for January 2021 intake, review started a month back. No update since.

The processing time can differ based on your application and where you applied from. I was quoting the time it is taking on average for Indian Applicants

So you continued studying without a study permit ? Seems quite a risk. Hope you have discussed options with your institution on possible scenarios.
