Reference letter - verification - verify - immigration officer - language

Hi, thank you to whoever replies.

If I use a reference letter from my home country, which is Brazil, that speaks Portuguese, do you think the immigration officer will contact my employer by phone or email, and will he/she speak in Portuguese? Is that likely? If not, who will contact my employer? How would that be?
