Call them before you submit anything. They might say it's not even necessary.

So I just called CIC and was able to talk to someone who actually answered my question. The agent put me on hold to verify first and then said that in the question 13 other documents should be included as well. She said that it's about any documents from other countries than Canada that you had to apply for like visitor visa, student visa, work permits etc. and the dates should be the issue and expiry dates from those documents. I specifically asked her about my J-1 and B1 for the U.S and she confirmed that these should be mentioned.

Also, if anyone is interested, in question 5 about the other use names, nicknames etc, that this question is optional and if you haven't used any other names or nicknames etc. just put n/a in the table.

Im just repeating what she said, I’m not 100% if this is correct so this is just to help you make your decision

Just an update about question number 5. Another time I called a different agent said to leave it blank if you haven't used any other names so I don't know anymore. I guess as many opinions as telephone agents.

OMG, I can't believe I didn't fill out 13) properly. I had immigration status in USA, but I thought this only related to green card, not student/working VISAS. I guess I need to call CIC to ask how to fix this, I have already sent the paperwork a month ago.

I did the same mistake and filled only the cizenship of my birth country even though I had Student visa (2013-2014) and work visa (2017-2018) from the UK, Schengan visa (2014) and Visitor visa from the US (from 2019). Any update about what CIC told you? I would really appreciate your response

I didn't end up calling, I simply waited until the application was officially opened and received the acknowledgement email. Then I submitted my info through the online form. I recommend you do the same as then they know exactly where find the application in their system. Just don't wait too long

Just reviving this thread to ask a follow up on this:
Do you include visas you had before you turned 18? My family travelled to different countries when I was young, do these count too?

Hi, I'm really nervous, because I already sent my citizenship application in February and regarding section 13, I did not know that I needed to include visitor visas in this section.

When I was 12 years old I was not allowed to have a passport, because I was too young to have a passport, due to our country rules. I had a visitor visa for another country which was included in my father's passport. So, I actually did not have a passport, but I was included in my father's passport as his accompanier/minor.

So, better to say, I had a visa that was attached to my father's passport in that time, but myself, did not have a passport, just a Visitor VISA attached to my father's passport. So, I did not include that information in section 13. In addition, when I checked the instruction guide, it said:

• Tell us which countries you have held status in, and exactly what status you held or currently hold (student, employment/worker, refugee/protected person, permanent resident or citizen).

So, according to the instruction guide, I concluded that visitor visa is not counted as an immigration status.

Do you think it would make the processing time for my application far longer or worse, do you think they would probably return my application?

Please kindly advise on this matter. I appreciate it in advance.

I have only included my country of citizenship (birth) here, although I have lived, traveled, worked in many other countries. My citizenship application was approved.

Thanks for the update! And congrats on the approval! Before submitting my app a few days ago, I recently traveled to India via Dubai and got a 96-hour transit visa and stayed 4 days in the UAE on my way . I really did not think that situation was applicable to Q13.

So I did not bother to include that, although I did explain it in the "physical presence calculator" section of the travel abroad. I was worried if this would cause issues!! Now I can sleep peacefully. Phew!

Twitter account is not monitored by immigration officers, so take the advice with a pinch of salt. They are basically stating what the form/online or paper is asking you to include, which does ask for any status, even visitor. However, this hasn't been clarified by IRCC if indeed requires you to include ALL your travel you have ever done in your life. My understanding is it refers to holding another immigrant status in another country, not necessarily temporary entries to other countries.
However, if you want to be absolutely safe, include everything if you can.
