Hey guys i got refusals on 5th feb and i have ordered the caipse , its arrived today stated that :

-The applicant has failed to satisfied me that pursuing the selected program of study is reasonable given the high cost of international study in canada when weighed against the potential career/employeement benefits after completion, and the local option available for similar studies.

-Marksheets provided indicate poor acedemic record in areas of study that would form core of future studies, i have concerns that applicant will be able to successfully complete the study program.

-Given the applicants previous education/Employeement history, i am not satisfied the motivation to pursue this perticular program at this point in time in canada is reasonable; see LOA.

Therefore i am not satisfied that applicant would be a bonafied student in canada who will leave canada by the end of the period authorized for thier study.

pls help me as soon as possible as May inrake is going to start soon, i have to apply again asap. what should i do next ??

Assume this is for a study permit. Don’t know your profile

Officer says you have applied to a program that makes no sense. You probably have a degree and applied for a PG or diploma program. The officer says it costs thousands of dollars to take a Canadian program that you can possible take in your home country with no career benefit or profession. Your grades aren’t great so concern you will fail the program.

So address how you will advance your career in your country with a diploma program. And state why spending a lot of money will give you career opportunities in your home country. State why you need to study in Canada.

So your program makes no sense. You don’t need to come to Canada to take that program. A business analytics/business management program can be taken in your home country. What is so special about the program that will give you career advancement. Assume it is one year so you will not gain a lot of knowledge.

You mentioned you have an under-graduate degree in Computer Science. I'm assuming it is around 73%? And you also mentioned you have 11 backlogs. Did you finish your degree in 4 years?

Additionally, since you say you worked as a Data Science Analyst, I am assuming you worked with softwares like Tableau; programming languages like Python, R? In that case a general business degree makes no sense, I'm afraid. It would benefit you further to go for a degree in Data Analytics or Data Science, or at the very least Business Analytics if you wish to make the switch to a business oriented analytics field. It may be tough, but you can still explain it.

Drop the idea of the program you have in mind and look for a University. The 11 backlogs might be a problem. Have you tried applying to a university?

I cannot comment when you put it that way. Expensive or not, that comes down to perspective. Ideally a university is good, but it is your choice. :). But yes, a program which is like the line of work you are in (Data Science/Data Analytics) could more likely "convince" the visa officer you are a genuine applicant and "could" encourage them to approve your application. This is of course if you want to continue in the same field after you finish your Post Graduate Degree.

But I will encourage you to look at 2-year programs. You may not find 1 year programs for (big) data analytics. One-year graduate certificate programs may not have a lot of "depth" to them to improve your career hugely. I mean no offense.
