I have read on the Canada immigration website that they accept PCC for express entry if it is under 6 months old. However I have read other threads in this forum saying that it should be at max 3 months old. Can someone verify which information is correct? I have one more query. I need to apply for PCC from the Indian consulate in San Fransisco. Would it be alright to apply for it before I am in the pool? I plan to apply and enter the pool in the beginning of April.

it should be less than 6 months old if its from your current residence. you can apply before you are in the pool if you plan on submitting your PR application within 6 months of getting it.

Thank you for your reply. You mentioned that if this is from your current residence, then 6 months is fine. What if it is from my older residence? I have been in the US for nearly 5 years. Before that I was in India for all my life. Can a PCC from a previous residence (India) also be at max 6 months old or is the max time period 3 months old?

pcc from the past residencies must be issued after you left that country and cover entire stay. dates dont matter.
