Hello all,
We got the PHAC compassionate visit approval for my spouse to reduce his quarantine period. The approval states that he is exempt from federal regulations. Does that mean he doesn’t have to book an hotel for 3 days? And also for the first question on ArriveCAN app, can he choose the travel exempt option?

You have 2 different issues. Your spouse received a TRV via PHAC but provincial health guidelines state that you shouldn't quarantine with pregnant women because they are at higher risk of severe covid infections and pregnant women often have contact with the healthcare system. Whether he is exempt from the 3 day hotel quarantine is unclear but he can't quarantine with you and you shouldn't want him to quarantine with you to protect you and your unborn baby and the healthcare workers and other patients. PHAC doesn't guarantee reduced quarantine period it is very specific to each situation. I would suggest contacting your local or provincial office and the federal public health office if you have more questions about quarantine and pregnancy.
