Hello,

I had applied for Permanent Residence using Express Entry as an FSW candidate.

ITA: September 2020
Application submitted: December 2020
AOR: December 2020
Biometrics: Requested but not submitted yet

Recently due to some personal reasons, I am considering withdrawing my application and reapply later (in 2022 or later) to directly land and settle in Canada. Since I have received AOR, will there be an issue if I withdraw my application and reapply later? Is there any penalty/wait-time which can lead to issues when I try to reapply later to get a new ITA with my account after recent withdrawal?

Thanks!

You can just see it through to the end and still settle in Canada next year or later . Who knows you might not even get approved ASAP and the entire process might take a year to complete

I personally do not know when I will reapplying again in the future because of which I am considering withdrawing and reapplying later in future rather than going forward towards approval stage.

If you have any more knowledge regarding my question, please do share

Thanks for your reply!

If I withdraw my application, will I get a refund?
In most cases, you can only get a refund if you withdraw your application before we start processing it.
If we have already start processing your application, we can only refund:
  • the right of permanent residence fee (RPRF)
  • the right of citizenship fee
  • the open work permit fee (for Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) exempt workers only)
  • the employer compliance fee (refunded to the employer), and
  • International Experience Canada (IEC) fees (See refunds for IEC)
You can request a refund online. If we started processing your application, submit your withdrawal request using our web form.
After you submit a request, we will contact you if we need more information and to update you on the status of your request.
