Guys, when I creating my EE FSW profile, I have a question about the "Canadian Certificate of Qualification".

I used to work in Canada as a self-employed financial advisor for 8 months. To gain this position, I have obtained Both Ontario Mutual Fund License with Ontario Life Insurance License, and both are expired about two years ago. Yet, can I put them under the tab "Canadian Certificate of Qualification"? If I can not, will my application be rejected by inputting the wrong certificates?

Thanks a lot.

No - you cannot claim points.

Points are only granted for certifications in trades (e.g. plumbing, electrical, etc.). Your occupation is not a trade.

If you claim points that you aren't entitled to, IRCC will remove these points post ITA and refuse your application if your points total is below the cut off.

Thanks for your confirmation.

Additionally, I have a question about FSW work experience, do I have to obey my occupation's education first to be eligible to claim this occupation's points?
Take NOC 2264 – Construction inspectors as an example. Under the NOC page,
Employment requirements
  • Completion of secondary school is required.
  • A college diploma in construction, civil engineering or architectural technology plus several years of related work experience or several years of experience as a qualified tradesperson in a construction trade, such as plumbing, carpentry or electrical trade are required.
Is that meaning besides secondary school education, do I must own a college diploma in construction, civil engineering or architectural technology first to claim NOC 2264 points? I have been working for a construction company for 2 years as a construction inspector. However, my major is economics, is this a problem?
