Hello Everyone,

Thanks in advice for your time reading and answering my questions!

I am currently working in USA and my employer has a branch in Toronto, Canada. I am in the process of applying for federal skilled work program under express entry.
I think I can persuade my employer to get a job offer for me in Toronto while working for a similar role for a same company in different location. Having a job offer means 50 additional points for CRS which it is too good to miss ;), but I am not sure the company can get me LMIA since I am basically working for the same company and doing the same job. I want to make less hassle for them as well. But I don't want to get through ICT since I am targeting to get PR directly.

My questions are:
1. Is it possible to get the job offer points without getting LMIA?
2. Can ICT get exempt from LMIA?
3. Do I have to work for the same company that I get job offer for a specific time in order to my PR card?

Thanks :)

3. Do I have to work for the same company that I get job offer for a specific time in order to my PR card? You have to work in the same NOC for the number of years you are claiming points for. For CEC, you need a year of experience in Canada.

1. Yes, it is if you are on a closed work permit with your employer named (like an ICT). You will need to work for your employer in Canada on the ICT for a full year before you will be able to claim the job offer points.
2. Yes.
3. You need to work for your employer for a full year in Canada on the ICT work permit before you will be able to claim the 50 points. Once you receive an invitation under Express Entry and submit your application, you'll want to remain with that employer until your application is approved.

Thank you! Scylla

I am currently in USA and I planned to get PR first and then work for our current employer based in Canada. Is that possible?
it seems like I need to get work permit through ICT first for a year and then apply for EE.

Your question isn't very clear.

If you want to claim the 50 job offer points, your employer needs to get the ICT, you need to move to Canada, then work for your employer in Canada for a full year, and only then you'll be able to claim the 50 points.
