I booked the Shearton and you can walk to it, it is at the terminal. They will allow you to take a shuttle as well if you don't want to walk. That is what they told me on the call tonight.

Then why don't they just give our GIC Amount Back? It was meant to be used for First-year expenses which most of us will spend in our home countries.

For those who will arrive or if someone you know will arrive tomorrow, please update us here about the procedure. Also, if the check baggages needs to be bring at the hotel during 3night stay or if the baggages can be check in to the connecting airlines before going to the hotel. TIA!

I booked the Shearton and you can walk to it, it is at the terminal. They will allow you to take a shuttle as well if you don't want to walk. That is what they told me on the call tonight.

Assume they will need to follow you if you walk. Great options though for a bit of fresh air and to limit potential exposure.

Btw one quick question. I am entering from Poland as an international student. I am remarking in the ArriveCAN App my Polish phone number/SIM card. I will order a Canadian SIM card from a service where it will get arranged to arrive on the day of my arrival at the hotel reception.

Can I change the phone number that is in the ArriveCAN App? Anybody knows?

It was offered but I didn't clarify as I was against it but it's possible. Didn't get the specifics but it's below 800$. Reason being is that the line will run off any where between 2:45 and 3:05, won't have time for long conversations. Most people fail as the line runs off during the call even if it's picked up so suggest to give an alternative number first before conversing (only some call agents encourage this but still worth trying).

It's possible maybe you could buy something off separately from the inbuilt local restaurant/sundry. Though you are in quarantine you are allowed to leave the room as long as you maintain social distancing and wear PPE.


One will most probably won't be allowed to board the plane without booking the hotel. Bundling 3 phones may end up counterproductive and will reduce the chances creating more network congestion, my 2 cents.

They said no deliveries. Are you saying ‘it’s possible’ because you have heard otherwise or you are just trying to circumvent the rules? You are only allowed to leave your room for fresh air at certain scheduled times or to walk your dog, have a smoke. This is outlined on the government website.
