I would surely have waited but looking at my timeline June 2019, I think I should do it. I know the money can go waste but need to take a chance.

U cnt do it upfront ! IME is issued by IRCC with medical request form and it is must requirement by the clinic before they even perform any test on you !

My brother got PR recently though PNP paper based and he did upfront medical. For upfront medical u only need ur file #. The doctor will do the tests and give u a information letter (tracking #) which will have IME number and then u need to sent that information letter through webform. The doctor will send the result once ready directly to IRCC who will link and update ur medical on file.

My mother was refused a medical without ImE number issued letter by IRCC. My brother works for IRCC a doctor cnt issue an IME number plus a doctor can only do a immigration medical based on the IME issued by IRCC . Mind it IME numbers are issued by medical doctor from IRCC panel and your doctor has no say in it ! For more info cal your clinic to confirm and i doubt your clinic wil tel you something different from what iam tellin ya ! TC

I think there is some movement in the London Visa Office. There are many other May applicant from London office waiting for IME and PCC.

IME for PNP and family class sponsorship( PGP) are different procedure where it's required upfront and PGP it's instructions from IRCC. Even for supervisa IME is upfront only. You can't change the process of IRCC. It's your wish if you want medical to be done and if doctor do it to make some money but the reports can't go to the file in process under PGP.

Hello everyone,

I sponsored my mother under Family sponsorship program. The timeline is as follow:

1) Application Received (AR) June 13, 2019.

2) Eligibility met as a sponsor, Feb 13th 2020.

3) Started processing the application July 9, 2020.

4) Got informed on 28th July 2020 that the application has been received by Family Reunification Unit at the IRCC office in London, UK.

Since then there is no update nothing. As per GCMS notes, nothing has started yet. In June 2021 it will be 2 years.

Have booked upfront medical in this month.

Can anyone suggest an advise? or been through this?

Please help and share its urgent. Thanks

The only thing you can get done proactively is police verification. Medical and bio, you have to wait to receive request from London VO

New travel measures
The Government of Canada is introducing new measures to help limit the spread of COVID-19 and its variants in Canada.

The new accommodation and quarantine measures were announced on January 29, 2021, and processes to support these new measures are in development.

For travellers
We strongly advise Canadians to cancel or postpone non-essential travel plans outside of Canada. Now is not the time to travel.

People who travel by air for non-essential reasons, such as vacation, will face new measures and expenses when they return to Canada.

Travellers must still provide proof of a negative COVID-19 molecular test taken within 72 hours before their scheduled departure time. In the near future, travellers will also be required to:

• take a COVID-19 molecular test on arrival in Canada
• stay in a hotel for 3 nights while they await the results of the COVID-19 molecular test they received on arrival
• pay for their hotel, as well as all associated costs for food, cleaning and security

Travellers will still be required to complete a mandatory 14-day quarantine.

All hotels will be located near one of the 4 Canadian airports currently accepting international flights:

1. Vancouver International Airport
2. Calgary International Airport
3. Toronto Pearson International Airport
4. Montreal-Trudeau International Airport

A full list of hotels will be available shortly.


immigration of our parents is considered as family reunion which under exempt from travel restrictions and I believe they will not need to stay in hotel but quarantine at home. Input?

I believe they will have to stay at hotel. I think this is the process for everyone unless deemed essential such as truckers, etc.

Better try to postpone landing of parents for 3-4 months if possible, hopefully travel restrictions will ease by then

Will wait till February 22. I still believe immigration shouldn’t be considered as non essential travel. Also curious how they will accommodate people who come with animals .

My parents did medical on 11th Feb; didn't hear anything back from Dr.'s office and there are no updates on the portal either.

it seems like they will compare the initial X-Ray and the latest X-Ray.
