I actually applied for PR through PNP ontario program , currently due to family emergency I m in Alberta for past six months ..pl let me know whether it will affect my application and also let me know whether I can even contact MP in Alberta or should I contact only MP in ontario..

The MP where you currently reside should help you. No it doesn't affect your file. They do it all the time for people.

My MP was useless, all he told me was that IRCC had received my application and that it was currently being processed. Was I meant to ask him to do something specific for me?

does contacting the MP also applies to outland applicants? for example, since my intend to PR is in Saskatoon, can I ask the Saskatoon MP's help to my application?

They can only enquire the status of your application. They cannot DO something about the applications really.
