Toronto VS Vancouver for refugees

Hello everyone,
I'm new in this forum. Actually I want to apply for refugees protection. I'm currently in Toronto.
Is there any difference between Toronto and Vancouver?

As I see, many applicants applied in Toronto last year and there is no clear timeline for their eligibility interview. What about Vancouver?

The process is identical. Refugee claims are managed by the federal government, not provinces or cities. Any differences are based on the claimants application strengths and weaknesses. Case loads may also play a factor in processing times, but generally it’s first in, first out.

Would suggest meeting with a few lawyers to see if you have good grounds for asylum unless you are very familiar with approval rates for your country, reason for asylum that are approved, have come directly from your home country etc. Have unfortunately seen recent cases where many people have misled by consultants. A negative asylum ruling has longterm international consequences and should always be one of the last option to remain in Canada.

Thank you for your reply. Is it right that the case load in Vancouver is lower than Toronto?

Case loads don't make a difference because cases can be redistributed to members across the country and heard virtually. Would move to a city where you have support, where you can afford to live, where you have a chance of getting a job, etc. Cost of living is extremely high in both these cities which is why many refugees end up in homeless shelters in these cities.
