We had insurance but they didn't cover as it is a long term treatment. Luck matters.
Travel medical insurance doesn't cover longterm therapies it is just for emergency care. Perhaps you were not familiar with the policy terms. A more comprehensive plan is available but is extremely expensive. Isn't about luck. FN need to realize that once stabilized travel insurance expects you to return home to receive treatment. That is why the rates are relatively low.

hello,

I need yall help to confirm a piece of vital information about H & C application. I notice today, my application has been updated to " process "

I will start my given yall a timeline of my application. Below is my timeline

  1. We received your application for permanent residence on June 29, 2020.
  2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on September 2, 2020.
  3. We started processing your application on February 6, 2021.

Below are my questions

1) Since my timeline has changed to "processing " on the 6th of Feb, should I be expecting my medical instructions anytime soon?
2) Can you give me a time range to expect my medical instruction?
2) How is medical instruction sent? via email or mail?
3) Is there any way to ensure my medical instruction is sent via email? I would prefer email to mail so that I can access it in time to respond to it..Mail takes longer and sometimes can get lost or in some cases, I might not be aware of it in my mailbox.

Hope to get a response.

Thanks

@canuck78

in the US no one is turn down from medical treatment. us has 10 million illegal immigrants now receiving medical insurance . Canada doesn’t have that much of issues when it comes to medical insurance. The amount he @RaiSaab108 paid is lot now when everyone is struggling to make ends meet. That amount is not everyday earning . It takes years to make that amount. Maybe it’s very less for some people . It’s a conversation between two people about how’s it going around their life
Think you are misinformed. Like in Canada, hospitals will treat anyone who is having a medical emergency before asking them about payment. The US billing department is much more aggressive compared to in Canada. Not sure why you are under the impression that illegal immigrants are receiving health insurance unless they pay for it. There are a few exemptions when undocumented immigrants may qualify for subsidized health insurance in some states: maternity care (might only be birth) and you can try to get emergency medicaid for life-altering medical problems. The large majority of undocumented immigrants have no health insurance and will be charged for any medical care they receive. That is why so few people go to the doctor or only seek medical treatment when it becomes an emergency. There are a large amount of people in the US that go bankrupt every year due to medical debt even if they have status and have insurance. Not sure what you mean when it comes to Canada not having an issue with medical insurance. There are many Canadians who can not afford medication, medical equipment/supplies, dental care, etc. I just saw another family looking to fundraise the 3 million dollars to treat their child for SMA. There is also a limited amount of money which is why we have wait times and not everything is covered compared to countries in Europe where almost all health related products and services are covered. I am certainly not complaining but recognizing the Canadian health system has problems. To access mostly free medical care we pay very high tax rates. If a foreign national uses our healthcare system they are expected pay because every dollar that goes unpaid takes away services to someone with provincial health insurance. Hospitals don't have unlimited funds.

Make sure to check your mailbox. Believe it or not, I check mine 3 times a day.
