When PNP draw comes out, does it lower the points for general draw ( if the next draw happens to be general) or does it makes no difference?

Usually it’s 200-300 pnp draws but this time it’s 654 draws. Are they increasing the draws ?
Probably a lot of PNPs got their nomination certificates after the last draw that’s why the number of people increased.

It has nothing to do with the lockdown. The draws did not stop last year in March and April.
The most possible reason is that they are figuring out a more efficient way to process applications before sending out more ITAs.
Last year they didn't have the stay-at-home order. It was just recommended that you stay at home. Of course feel free to keep your hopes up but I would be shocked if they have a draw next 2 weeks.

It doesnt make much different, Pnp will be followed by cec, so there will always be a number of fsw staying behind, hence, increase the score when all program draw happens. The longer all program draw not happens, the more fsw ppl stay in the pool, the higher cut off will be

They're calculated by week. So, for you:
  • 2018 is 31 weeks
  • 2019 is 52 weeks
  • 2020 is 50 weeks
  • 2021 is 5 weeks
You need another 34 weeks of full-time work experience to max out the points. You'll have that after 20 June 2021. :)

More the number of PNP invites the CRS cut-off will be higher, due to the fact that the draw size remains constant for draw. So if more people are drawn under PNP, that means less slots in that draw for non-pnp - which inturn makes cut-off higher.

Are these BC PNP draws restricted to only CEC applicants who received BC nominations, or also FSW applicants with BC nominations?

Hello guys. So I submitted my profile yesterday (FSW-Outland). Still the same yesterday, I got a job offer (Postdoc) in Canada. Given the uncertainty surrounding FSW, and my current family status (my wife is pregnant and I am currently not working), I want to apply for work permit, so as to get into Canada as soon as possible (14 weeks processing time here in South Africa). I am sure to get an ITA (CRS 493) when next all program draw resumes, and which would certainly be before work permit is issued, but the work permit is sure to be issued before I get my PR through EE.

So, here are my questions:

1) What happens if I accept the ITA, apply and then enter Canada with work permit while my EE application is ongoing?

2) How does my application change from outland to inland?

3) Would I need to send my passport back to my VPO eventually?

NB: Staying and waiting for PR to be issued (which might take six or more months) is not an option for me, as explained, so, kindly divert answers and suggestions away from that.

Immense gratitude.
