Status changed from IN PROCESS to RECEIVED?

Hey everybody,

We got a letter last week saying our app was being sent for further processing in Etobicoke.
PS- We sent in app 2019 Dec.

I happened to check this evening and the status has now moved to application in process to received?

Any info you can provide would be so helpful to us.

same thing happened to us in January. I think it just means that the Etobicoke office received the file and it’s in cue to be reviewed there.

We are also Dec 2019 applicants whose file was transferred to Etobicoke, please keep us updated on your progress.Best of luck.

I would recommend that you join discussions in the Etobicoke thread. Applications are generally set to the Etobicoke office when there are concerns with the application and this generally means you're looking at significantly longer processing times.

Exhausting but I understand, there is a reason why we're an amazing country!
Hope it gets resolved soon, we are really wanting to go and visit when pandemic is over, but we just hope this will work out soon or ever, feels like an eternity waiting, but there are def worse things. Thank you for your reply.

It just means the application was sent and received at the VO. They might not start processing it for another month or so. It should return back to "in process" and you will get an update/AOR2 saying they started processing your application.

I can't see the days for updates, especially during lockdown - everything just feels slower, so waiting on this feels longer. I have read some horror stories of lengthy times and once it gets sent over, it's like a black hole... But, we're trying to remain positive, and we understand why there are lengthly processes and how applications need to be processed. We ordered notes so that maybe if they want other information we can start preparing for that and order docs if we need to ect, just to speed it up but it's hard when it is literally all out of your control, practicing let it be becomes super real.
