Hi,

I had applied for PEI PNP in January 2017. My express entry profile is already created.

My profession is Technical Writer, experience 15 years. Technical writing is closely related with Software or IT Industry.

Questions
======
Is Technical writing in high-demand list in PEI ?
What are the chances of getting an ITA from PEI for Technical writers?

Are there any other Provinces in Canada, where Technical writing is in high-demand occupation list ?

How does the PEI PNP selection criteria work ?

Thanks,
tric

I think u are wrong. I work in IT. Never heard about technical writing in IT. Technical writing is related to book editing and publishing

Hi Aaron,

I would defer to your opinion. I have been working as a Tech writer in software companies since 15+ years.

Worked as Tech writer with companies such as Cisco too which is a Networking giant.

Tech writing is simply not about publishing fiction books, it is specifically related with "Writing about Software, Technology and Technical concepts" hence it is called "Technical writing".

For more details, you can refer the jobbank.gc.ca for job code 5121.

Below is what the above jobbank.gc.ca says about Technical writing:
"Technical writers
Analyze material, such as specifications, notes and drawings and write manuals, user guides and other documents to explain clearly and concisely the installation, operation and maintenance of software and electronic, mechanical and other equipment."

Hope this clarifies.

I am also a technical writer with 12 yrs experience. I have also performed the role of business analyst but, this is not on papers. Should i use the noc as 5121 or something else??

Cheers
