Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Children fly with at least one parent. Families being separated for an extra 3 days is not a big deal. Many families are not willing or couldn’t afford renting a hotel or AirBnB and quarantined with their family members. Some even shared a bed with travellers returning. There are certainly people who took every precaution to quarantine without any contact with their family by remaining in a basement or getting a hotel/AirBnB. On this forum I have seen many examples of families quarantining with non-travellers sharing bathrooms, sharing a small home, etc. In these cases people will catch with the new variant.
I've seen teens fly alone. Depends on the hotel, can quarantine alone.

Michelle is a Canadian MP, born in Winnipeg. I very much doubt an American "equivalent" of MP cares what we do with our vaccines. You are missing the point - the liberals have admitted that widespread vaccination will not lift restrictions. This is what the issue is.

You may not see your inlaws, but you are with your wife...I have not seen my husband in almost a year and quite frankly I am tired of these poor decisions by leaders with their heads up their behinds.
If you followed the news, you'd know that she is married to an American and spends most of her time in Oklahoma, and when she's in Canada she's hypocritical - she calls for American action on the coronavirus but opposes it in Canada.

No, widespread vaccination will not immediately end the restrictions. Transmission of the virus needs to go down first.

If you're suggesting that the vaccine is some kind of Space Laser Beam from a certain religion that the Liberals are going to use to impose a New World Great Resetting Order or something similar like that, we have more things to be concerned about than the MP from Oklahoma.

You are just blatantly in favor of run around for all at the airports, why is it a wait to implement it right away why wait a week or so. Your speculations are based on not understanding the intricacies involved. The objective of govt is very clear to discourage "non essential" that's not something that you decide.

You have to think logically what family reunions mean for most. People can live without seeing the in-law..
You don'd understand what you're talking about. How many times have I said that the restrictions haven't been implemented because the government was ridiculously stupid and announced them before they figured out how to do it?

You and @his*marty both seem like COVID conspiracists.

I am not saying the vaccine is a be all end all, I am saying there is no transparency - they will not even provide a projection of what percentage of Canadians need to be vaccinated to start lifting restrictions. So, what incentive or point is there to getting a vaccine?

Oh come off it. I didn't say covid wasn't real... I'm saying the whole thing has been a S***show and a year later they still don't know what they're doing. You think the government has been managing this pandemic well, then good for you. Why are we the losers of the G7?

I am as frustrated as anyone else here, but how could they know?

Perhaps we get 100% vaccination but the new mutations laugh at the vaccine. Will we shrug our shoulders and 100% return to normal, come what may?

Perhaps we approach 70% vaccination but somehow new cases don't go down, for whatever reasons.

Clearly, the vaccines are expected to drive transmission down - but the trend in new cases is the important factor. And if the government gives clear goals, that's just promises it has to break later when things don't turn out predictably. So it doesn't make promises. I wouldn't give specific number values for goals either, if I were in their shoes. I'd try and be as vague as possible so that I'm not stuck acting on one data point when there are many more in a big picture view.

My point exactly is that there is NO CLEAR GOAL. And I am tired of living in this vortex not ever knowing anything just keep following what the government tells me like a good little girl so maybe I will get my dessert in another year...2 or 3...? I'm tired of living alone and I'm tired of being without my husband. I've followed everything I need to follow - I haven't travelled in a year...I want answers and real plans.

Anyone see the guidelines that showed up two days ago?

For Hotels:
Selection criteria will be shared in the coming days for inclusion on the list of hotels. To be considered, hotels must be located near one of the 4 Canadian airports accepting international flights.

The application process will be posted soon and will list all the requirements. Interested hotels may submit applications as soon as the process opens. Please visit this web page regularly for updates.
I don't want to read too much into it, but it certainly does sound like they haven't even selected their hotels yet. Dear lords, what is this clownery?

I wonder if someone reminded them after the fact that they can't just give a big handout to one hotel company without some sort of open bid process.
