For those of us who applied in Nov 2020 and have received / are beginning to receive AOR, when do you think it's best to start practising for the test?
I know it may be too soon seeing that applicants from prior months still haven't received test invites.
Just bringing this up as I'm beginning to believe there's a chance Nov applicants "may" be treated by the normal 12months guideline.. seeing they sent our AOR within the "regular" 90days timeframe.... unlike previous months... obviously impacted due to COVID.
Yeah, there are a few blank spots that need chasing up for the early days on that tracker but there is definitely something going on that indicates a shift in processing pace at some point towards when they began handling lots for end-October to mid-November. I'll be reserving judgement until we reach the third week of Feb to form a conclusion, but for now it seems like it's actually
less than 90 days, when you account for the fact that if you take a few of those dates and examine the number of
working days between the app delivery date and the AOR date, it actually becomes closer to
60 days vs 90 days, which is closer to pre-covid processing times for this stage. Give it a go yourself with some of the data points from the sheet and a website like
this.
If this trend and pace continue, it means that in spite of the holiday season (which, for all intents and purposes, should have actually
added time to our batch of applications, something about this step of the process has changed dramatically at some point in Q4 last year (I'm guessing somewhere around September - October) where they changed how they were processing these applications, with packages delivered around the end-October period being the starting point for this new way of doing things.
This means that there are likely more changes in the pipeline for the process as a whole and this could either be for the better or the worse, but hopefully for the better. The trends throughout this month and into next month will see whether this is in fact the case, or that maybe more than a few of you decided to add a few cookies and chocolates into your application packages to bribe the folks at the IRCC CPC.
