@BOYX - and congratulations on getting your AOR! Does receiving AOR mean that the application is deemed validated to be completed (pending background checks ofcourse)?
Before an AOR, your application has the possibility of being returned for incompleteness. The general consensus is that an AOR means that your application will not be returned. Arguably a non-sequitur, but due to the application not being returned, it implies that your application was successful in passing a "preliminary" completeness check and is therefore correctly filled.
Reason why I tend to agree with the logic is because many applications that have been returned for missing the smallest of details i.e an unfilled out check box. Therefore, I am inclined to believe that this preliminary check is in fact quite thorough and therefore everything done in the application must be correct.
Regarding the non-sequitur, an AOR could also mean that your application successfully passed the
crucial requirements checklist - and thereby any non-crucial requirements could be completed at a later date. Nonetheless, there is also the possibility that IRCC may have simply overlooked this crucial error. I personally find that unlikely, but you never know.
So with the nuance out of the way, you can decide whether an AOR is a good sign in this situation or not. If you wish to be prudent, I would suggest you call IRCC to confirm.
Once the AOR is out of the way, the next step is In Process. It is in this step where the Background checks come into play. But you're still quite far from that for now.
