Just received latest GCMS notes and it looks like there were no updates since biometrics in October and initial review in March. Sad state of affairs.

@legalfalcon thanks, that makes sense! If 9 months is expected, what would you say is the time period when March AOR applicants have to really worry about their applications? My application is exactly at 10 months and 6 days today and I haven’t seen any progress since October.
9 months was pre-COVID. Instead of looking at the time elapsed, see what stage your application is at. If your have passed eligibility, then you are almost around the corner.

All application go through the following stages:

R10
Medicals - https://bit.ly/3oZUe1M
Criminality
Eligibility
Security - https://bit.ly/3oZezEo

To read on the stages of an application see https://bit.ly/35TLcfb

Hi @legalfalcon

The Speed at which IRCC is working, Seems getting the PPR request will take months now and I can't hold on my travel plan further.

I need to travel to Australia for some work( Temporarily), but my country of Residence will remain Singapore.

By any luck while I am in Australia, I get a PPR request, can I request IRCC to submit my passport at Australia?

Thanks
Yes, you can. However, make sure that you will be in Australia for a few weeks to submit the passport and for it to be returned. Alternatively, you can seek an extension to submit your passport and do it when yo return.

Honestly I'm not sure why they blaming covid for slow processing times when a lot, if not majority of applications, are done online which doesn't require officers to be in the office. Is there any practical reason why they cannot be just as fast working from home? I mean it's not like companies from other industries that allow work from home have been slowed down like IRCC. Can't help but think they are being lazy and just goofing off at home.

I think @legalfalcon posted answer on this topic somewhere. IRCC does not have enough laptops to allow employees to work from home - they are forced to come to the office and share desktops.

Hi guys
Aor march 23 2020
I called ircc today and I was told that they accidentally refunded my biometric fee which they were not suppose to refund.
I did my biometrics in September 2020.
In this case should I repay the money back or i should wait until they ask me to do so.
And has anyone had such issue before and how did you go about it.
Thanks

Hi all, here's my timeline (FSW-Outland):

2 March 2020: AOR
9 March 2020: IP1/Original MEP for me & spouse
16 March 2020: Profile shows “Biometrics completed”
4 September 2020: I notify IRCC of the intent to add our newborn child to the application
9 September 2020: Re-medical request received for me & spouse (Original medicals expired in June 2020) & ADR #1 for child
15 September 2020: ADR #2 for child
13 October 2020: Revised MEP for me & spouse
15 October 2020: Medical request for child received & profile shows “We are reviewing your additional documents”
29 October 2020: MEP for child

I’m not sure when exactly my application entered IP2, but it’s been stuck at that for several months. However, I received a ghost update last week and the “Review of additional documents” section changed from “We are reviewing your additional documents” to “Not applicable”.

Could this be an indication of good news coming soon?
Update: Called the IRCC today.

After probing for more detailed information than the generic "your application is in progress, nothing needed from your end", the agent eventually told me that my eligibility and security have both been passed. Even though she didn't really say it explicitly, I assume this means that I'm in the final review stages :) let's see how long it takes!

Talked to a IRCC call center person as per the executive everything is Passed, background verification is being processed. Any idea how long background verification takes place?
Update from IRCC call - all stages are passed, awaiting for approval email. All the stages were marked passed on December-9,2020.

Hi Guys,

AOR: 22 March 2020
Medical Approved: 22 May 2020
Inland CEC

No updates after 22 May, Me and my spouse already gave our biometrics when we came to Canada on temporary permits.
No updates on biometric either.
I am worried about the progress of the application. What should we do to get CIC notified about this?

You cannot give access to secured systems such as intelligence, foreign info sharing, security etc. on laptops. An application processing may seem like an administrative job, but it has many protocols that have to be adhered to.

Internet security, giving access to employees, and ensure that there are no data breaches are all factors that have to be taken into account.

Thanks alot.

So I do not need to change my country of residence.
You only have to change your country of residence when you move permanently for the foreseeable future. If you are only going to be visiting another country, then you do not have to change your address.

@legalfalcon, I am CEC inland applicant(March 5th,) and my Express entry current status is except Security everything passed. Due to emergency i have travelled to my home country in Sep and retuned back 1st week of Oct, Do i need to update IRCC regarding my short travel through webform? Is this causing my security status is still in not initiated level? I have read regarding security which you have posted, and i have passed eligibility in august 12th, Please advise.
