Hi Scylla, Please help. We are sponsoring my husband's mom. His parents are separated (not living together) eversince he was a kid. But there is no divorce in the Philippines and his mom don't have a documentation to provide that they are separated. If she declares separated in the status, will it cause a problem in the application? Thanks.

You can ask them to send digital copies and then just print them here at a studio

I completely understand and agree with your thoughts, but your "informed decision making and setting expectations" are beyond the scope of this public forum. This is a place where people have asked questions relating to the application where they know someone would help them out.

There are other platforms to vent the anger out against someone where that matters. Twitter for example is one such good place where you can ask the authority directly and get your answers from. Your conversation is not helping but making others feel disturbed as they have done anything by getting selected in the lottery system.

Nothing is fair in this world and I fully sympathise with those who did not get selected either due to poor internet connect during FIFO or due to luck in the Lottery.

Please let others enjoy being on this road to happiness knowing that their parents will be with them sooner or later after crossing few hurdles which can be ironed out in this public forum.

I again request you to not take this in positive manner and leave all the burden behind you and wait for the next opportunity where 30,000 people will be selected. I really pray this time that your and all others be united with their parents. Amen.

Yes, IRCC has claimed to send all the invites for the PGP 2020 this time.

Look out for the PGP 2021 lottery in coming months with 30K invites. This gives you more chance to get selected

It means you are out for the 2020 draw. There is going to be another draw sometime in 2021.

The main point being - you can't gatekeep a thread on a public forum. There's been so many PGP threads that stray from focusing solely on those that have been selected. Herding people to rant on Twitter simply serves your own needs and adding an "Amen" to the end of your post doesn't make it any nicer. Let me get straight to the questions you have asked :

for one you can consider me really lucky to get myself in 2014 under FSW, my parents in 2019 under FIFO and this time my parents-in-law in 2020 under the lottery system. That makes me a deserving applicant of writing and answering question based on the experience and exposure I have been through all these years.

I am not here to gatekeep or to micro-manage anybody here as I believe everyone here is a sane adult and knows what they are talking about. Your conversation on this forum seems like those age-old politicians whose only job is to rant the opposition no matter what they do. All these years I have been a member of many such forums and the only way I thought this works out is by getting and giving help to those who ask relevant questions.

I am repeating myself here again by saying that people here are not interested in what you and me think in terms of how government is screwing us and how we can give a f**k back to them. they are interested in listening to the answers which might make them happy at the end of the day.

Yes you must. You need the copy of the invitation email to apply for PR. Below is from the document check list

Parents and Grandparents Invitation to Apply Letter
Note: Include a copy of the invitation to apply letter with your confirmation number. Place this letter as the 1st page of your application package
(above the Document Checklist).
