Hello,

I am on implied status waiting for a confirmation of visitor's record from immigration. However, i have a job offer from a company who is willing to do a C14 work permit for me. For that, to my undestanding, I need to do a border run. My question is : will immigration allow me to re enter canada under implied status(i guess no), OR is there an alternative procedure which will allow me to obtain the work permit at the border?

Thanks

Work permit applications are generally not being accepted or processed right now at the port of entry due to COVID, although there are some limited exceptions. People on this forum who have tried this from Canada have had mix results. Many have been turned away and told to apply online. Some have been successful.

Generally speaking, it's best to have valid status in Canada if you want to try a border run. I'm not sure about implied status.

The below information may be helpful with regards to applying for a work permit at the border.
