It is mandatory for you to change your address if you move, not a choice. So, irrespective of whether it will affect your timeline or not, you are supposed to update IRCC with the latest address. This is CLEARLY mentioned in your AOR letter.

But does it, materially? I have some flexibility on when we move out of our current address.

Well if you are asking if there is a chance it will affect processing time, then the answer is yes.

Because citizenship applications are processed by the local IRCC office responsible for your address. If your application is already In Process, then a file transfer has to be done to the new office.

True, that makes sense. Thankfully we'd likely move within the same neighborhood.

Hello Raj Kumar,
I going to India after 3 months (vacating completely) and planning to be back only when I get the Test Invitation.
I was thinking of updating my friend's address since Ill go back there when I come back to Canada.
And we both live in the same city, does that delay the process?
I appreciate for taking the time to respond.

Its Rajkamal.

Well if it is the same city AND the office responsible is the same, then there is no need for file transfer.

Also, please keep in mind that you should still meet all Residency obligations until you take the oath (like maintaining physical presence for at least 2 out of last 5 years to keep your PR in good standing).
