How long does it take to get PR after receiving AOR?
Well no one can answer that question but it all
Depends too . Processing time
Is 21 months but if you are lucky you can get in 12 months, 15 months. Depends on volume of application and how long it takes to process.

Today got reply from IRCC against submitted webform as below
Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

We verified the information you provided and can confirm that your application is not available in the system yet.

If you sent it by traceable means, you may contact the mail service provider you used in order to make sure that it was received by the processing office.

Furthermore, due to the ongoing situation related to COVID-19, some IRCC offices are currently operating with reduced or critical staff only. We are working on processing applications as quickly as possible; however, processing times are affected and any disruption caused by COVID-19 is not reflected accurately on our website. We are making all the necessary efforts to process applications as soon as possible.

We hope the information provided is helpful in assisting you with your enquiry.

We would also like to suggest the following online services that might be helpful to you with any immigration, refugee and/or citizenship future requests:

Sincerely,

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada

I received the same from them. I again sent another webform giving them the same info including a screenshot of CA Post delivery. They replied stating that they have verified my information but it varies from what they have on file. They asked me to again verify and send the information that I had originally sent to them. Anyway, before they replied to my second Webform, I had already called them, they confirmed receipt of my application, only that they had not began the process. They gave me a temporary file number. So I would suggest call them, depending on which part of Canada you are in, call them in the early AM hours.

Hi,
My PR application was delivered to IRCC on 10th August. Today I called them to get a temporary file number, but the agent said that my file is not received yet or its not in the system yet.
I am worried now as he said it might not have been received or worst case scenerio they might have returned my application due to any missing documents.
Did they tell the same thing to anyone else here?
Thanks
Hi, maybe you called too soon. It was on this forum that one of the members suggested that after 18 weeks, an applicant should receive an AOR and if not, to follow up with IRCC. I got my temporary file number in December, yet my AR was July 2nd, 2020. I suggest you try calling them end-JAN. Alternatively, you can send them a webform providing the following information. This is a copy/paste from their response to my webform before I called them to ask for a temp file number. They will also need Canada Posts delivery date, I took a screen shot from the CA tracking website.
  • Surname and complete given name (including middle name, if applicable) - exactly as they appear on the passport or identity document,
  • Date of birth (YYYY-MM-DD),
  • Client ID Number, UCI or Application Number,
  • Country of birth,
  • IRCC receipt number,
  • Type of application,
  • Current address,
  • Telephone number(s), and
  • Email address.

Thanks for ur information,
1.what did they ask from u
2.when they issued u a temp file no , over the phone or by email later.
3. My AR 20Aug , can call them now ?
Hi, I suggest you contact them end-January. Have the following info ready
  • Surname and complete given name (including middle name, if applicable) - exactly as they appear on the passport or identity document,
  • Date of birth (YYYY-MM-DD),
  • Client ID Number, UCI or Application Number,
  • Country of birth,
  • Type of application,
  • IRCC receipt number,
  • Current address,
  • Telephone number(s), and
  • Email address.
  • AR date
And when you call them, call early AM hours Atlantic Standard Time since their office is in NS province, you wont be put on hold for too long. If at all they say they do not have your application, do not panic. Give it a couple more weeks or even wait till end FEB.

I would have ageed with this assertion if the applications were at security check or background investigation. Because I thought AoR was only for application completeness and documentation.
Please I need explanation..
Best not to rely on speculations. Right now with Covid, there are delays experienced irrespective of the country one is from

How long does it take to get PR after receiving AOR?
From my understanding (and this you can verify on IRCC website), the PR process countdown begins from the date they receive an express entry online application while for non-express entry (paper), the countdown starts from the time the application is received at their offices, which is the AR. So if paper based applications take between 15 to 19 months (and now with Covid, IRCC says it could take up to 21 months), lets hope with the vaccine and with IRCCs goal to invite more immigrants starting this year, that there will be no delays and that they will be in a position to process applications between 15 and 19 months. To answer your question, you can estimate how long starting from your AR. It would also depend on your security background check and your medicals, from my understanding, the former can take long

Hi guys, my paper application was delivered today (01/11/21) in Sydney, NS. I just noticed a very stupid mistake that will certainly make then return my application. Instead of submitting 50mmx70mm photos, I sent 30mmx40mm.
I cannot talk to them as I don't have an application number, and I do not want to wait six months for them to return my application to apply again.
Which option do you think would be the next best action:

1) Ask for my fee refund, pay again and submit another application.
2) Use the same fee; just submit a new application with the correct photo. (For me, the risk of doing this is if they do not return my first application because of the photos, just ask for me to send proper ones. Then I will have duplicated my application)
3) Any other options?

Thanks

I don't think an applicant is allowed to re-submit an application or send photos separately. My suggestion is call IRCC in the morning (NS) time explain your situation and let them advice you. In order to request a fee refund that means withdrawing your application. Call IRCC and listen to the menu options, there is a way of bypassing and succeeding in speaking to an agent, it depends on the menu options you select. I would also suggest filling in a Webform, they typically respond within 3 weeks.
