I think they are working like indian govt offices...seperate dept for issuing AL and new copr nos...lol...so lack of coordination.. some times table 1 works faster some times table 2 :D
It is always like that. You do not need big qualifications for these kinds of job. These are clerical jobs. They do not understand much stuff and do not care.

Hello Guys,

I was just wondering if anybody knows how long does it take before you get your health card. I am flying on 18th and just thinking if I should get the travel insurance. Is it advisable?
Does your health benefit start as soon as you land in Canada?

Please let me know if anybody has any idea.

Thanks,
If you are moving to Ontario. Yes they are covering people from day 1 but Health insurance does not cover everything such as dental, eyes, physio, chiropractor etc.

My GC counterfoil details are updated. I'm waiting for my AL. There are taking more than 24 hrs to send one now. Is it safe to book tickets proactively?
If you are in India and can call them kindly do so. I can't call them through textnow as it doesn't work in my country. I'm in the same situation as yours and i need to travel within this week.

Hi i am wondering the same. Planning to travel in February and considering to take travel insurance for three months as this is how much it needs for health card to be done...
You can take a travel health insurance for about 2-3 months. There was a waiting period of 3 months for the provincial health insurance but that has been waived off for now due to Covid. In Ontario, you can apply for the insurance in person at Service Ontario office. It gets activated immediately after you apply and you get your card within 2-3 weeks

Dumb question alert:

Considering someone lives in IST timezone and their file is being processed in a Canadian VO.. At what time should the person check profile for GU? Morning or evening or both?

Hello @whyCorona . & @crackMBA

Firstly I thank you for your help and insights to all our fellow immigrants here.

I require your help with my case.

I'm AOR 16th December 2019.

Actually my medicals expired in Dec 2019. So I decided to call up IRCC and was informed by an Agent that my medicals have been extended upto April 30th 2021.

However when the same wasn't reflected in my account, my Agent asked me to go for another upfront medical exam. I did that on 16th December 2020 & submitted the same by uploading e Medical information sheet but didn't get any response from IRCC.

However today I got a message in my account asking for a Remedical Request.

Now I am confused that if I should go for the medical again (For the 3rd Time)?

Or if the medicals which I did around 20 days back would be updated in the system.

My GCMS notes say Ready for Approval since 25th May 2020 and no action thereafter.

I would highly appreciate your help with this.

Did you receive a IMME Letter for remeds in your account? If yes then not sure how the upfront remeds you did would be aligned to it. This is the reason why proactively doing the remeds should be avoided as it might create some confusion. Since you have a consultant I would suggest to take their advise first.

Ok thanks for your help @whyCorona .
I would surely talk to the consultant to sort this out.

Also can you please tell me if this is a positive sign that they sent the Re Medical request? Since my application is Raedy for Approval as per Gcms notes.

Hello everyone! Just have a quick question. Any one that has received the "are you ready to travel to Canada soon" email and was not ready to travel at the time so didn't reply to the email, but was ready to travel after, have you guys been able to receive a new extension, or new COPR or any communication about being able to move to Canada?

Thank you!
