Quarantine destination

I am traveling from Vietnam to Winnipeg as final destination (spousal sponsorship). I just want to know if I can quarantine in BC for 14 days before leaving to Winnipeg?

Yes you can but you do not have to. You are allowed to continue to your final destination before quarantining. You have people to visit in BC after your quarantine period is over?

Yes, I'm living in BC and my mom is traveling to Winnipeg. She would like to quarantine at my place then heading to Winnipeg after 14 days. Because my step dad cannot take time off from work and no one is home to provide the necessary accommodations to my mom. I'm not sure if she needs to do quarantine again in Winnipeg.

If I am interpreting this correctly, then according to this document issued by Manitoba Health on Jan 08 you are exempt from quarantining a second time if you did a quarantine in BC on arrival into the country. Section 2, paragraph (l) states:

(l) persons who have completed the period of isolation required under an emergency order made under the Quarantine Act (Canada) elsewhere in Canada, if they travel directly to Manitoba immediately after their required period of isolation ends.

Of course you would have to quarantine in BC according to the appropriate guidelines.

Just to confirm your situation, BOTH you and your Mother are traveling from Vietnam. Your Mother would quarantine with you in BC then she would continue to Winnipeg? Take note that is says she would not have to quarantine again IF she travels TO Manitoba IMMEDIATELY after her quarantine in BC. So no staying in BC after quarantine to do sightseeing.

We have 2 empty rooms. I'm working from home so I can accommodate her during the quarantine time. Ans she will be staying in her room only.
