Hello. My husband and I have passed the 6-month mark in our application yesterday. We are PNP outlanders. I had the feeling that we would receive the message of 'Your application is taking us more than usual to process' wich we actually did.
Throughout this process I tried to be very patient and optimistic but now I feel defeated because our life is on hold and this waiting is never-ending. I have seen people in this forum that received their PPR in perfect timing even during the pandemic so we decided to raise a webform to the IRCC in order to figure out the current status of our application (We didn't have the chance to order the GCMS notes yet because of how expensive they are).

I really feel defeated now and what it scares me the most is not knowing anything at all anymore.
What if IRCC doesn't answer our query? We can't call them because we aren't in Canada and we can't call them from Argentina. We have tried aleeady but it is impossible. What if it takes us over a year to get an answer? This whole Covid situation doesn't seem to get better anytime soon. Should we give up Canada? My husband says no but I am too depressed and I feel like I can't take it anymore

Sorry for the negative emotions.

Sorry you feel this way and it is a difficult position. PNP always takes longer. GCMS notes cost like $20-30 USD so if you think that is expensive then you are in for a shock in Canada. You will get COPR eventually. You can't travel anyways because of COVID.

COVID-19 has impacted processing for most applications. You must logically understand that. Most people are not getting through in six months. Most are waiting much longer right now. And yes, there are people here who have been waiting over a year. That might happen to you. What you are experiencing is normal.

It's really your choice if you withdraw your application or wait for it to be processed. If you can't handle the waiting, then withdraw your application.

Thank you for not assuming like the other person did and for being polite and honest in your answer.

I feel your pain. Unfortunately there is nothing else you can do besides wait. You have to weigh the benefits and the costs then only you and your husband can decide what your next move should be.

My country is going through a financial crisis and each dollar that we can save makes the difference for us. So I recommend you not to judge if you don't know the entire situation. We have been saving over three years now and we faced situations where we didn't eat well in order to save for Canada because my country is going through a huge social and economic crisis. Even way before the pandemic

And this is the second time that we applied so we technically have been waiting much more time than just a year by now
You have made sacrifices and your time will come. Just think of landing in Canada for the first time. Unfortunately it will take longer and borders have to open too.

Thank you. You made me realise we are not the only one facing this situation. Sorry, I honestly didn't think you were judging me because it isn't mandatory for you or anyone to be aware of the situation that my country faces daily. I am sorry about that. We have been doing a lot of effort until now and I just think we will continue doing it and waiting as every one else does. Because after all I believe that Canada worths the wait and the efforts made!
Covid has been really challenging though. This is a very difficult time

Don't give up! Ircc has a post from june saying that they are prioritising inland or applications while the borders are closed. It makes sense from their point of view to allocate limited resources to applications they can issue copr to. I am going to hit 100% this week, I'm not expecting to get a final decision for quite a while. I'm very impatient and waiting is the worst but I'm trying to get on with things in the meantime, tiugh and all as it is. We just all got to wait it out I'm afraid! But I'm confident they will come up with a solution, they have shown that they can take action on the internal pr portal and spousal applications for example. I'm sure they could be better but hey its government and governments never move fast. We just gotta hang in there.

Hey @FlorYaskulowski... Hang in there. You'll get it eventually. It must be difficult, but with patience, you will see your dream come true eventually. If I may tell you about my experience: It took 16 years from the day I made the decision that I will go to Canada until I got my ITA, haha. So many hurdles along the way (job, money, NOC being removed, losing points due to age etc.). It wasn't until I found out about the extra points for French that I was finally able to get enough CRS points and got the ITA in September 2020.

So yeah, you will see your dream come true. Wishing you the best of luck!

Hi, I understand your situation, I am a PNP inland applicant and when I reached the 6 months I though I could live again and be happy finally, I am in Canada as a visitor so I cannot work or do anything and leaving the country is not an option given the current restrictions. Now it's almost one year and still didn't hear anything from them, I am still stuck here without being able to do anything and looks they are no moving with anything too, it's frustrating but keep your hopes high and someday when you less expect that email will come up. I still have that hopes and I have my days when I am depressed being in this situation but as you, we did a lot and it's only one final step to reach our dreams, so my advise is think positively all the time and keep your mind busy in other stuff, it's the only thing we can do for now while this situation gets better. It's hard but we can!!

Hi! Thank you for your kind answer. I didn't know they were prioritising inland applications. It makes sense. But at the same time it quite doesn't because it seems the borders aren't close for those who have got their PR approved and can show a quarantine plan and a negative covid test result. Do you know something about this? Did you apply for residency aswell? Are you inland or outland? Thanks

Hi! Thank you for the good wishes! I am very happy for you being closer to your dream. And you are right about being patient even though some days being patient gets harder than other days.
For what I have seen we all will need to be patient especially during these difficult times.

Sorry for the negative emotions.
But, even with Copr, you can’t travel to Canada. The travel restrictions will likely be extended again and again.
