Two stage visa processing

Hi,
Can someone give a clear idea on the new two stage visa process as mentioned in IRCC website?
SDS category ( online application).
I have completed my biometrics on Dec 17 and medicals were also done before but medicals not updated in the portal. My classes start on Jan 11.

Does that mean that visa process would take so long as they were done during sept and may 2020.

It's a gimmick, basically worser than getting a refusal where they stage you by sending an AIP letter and leave you in limbo.

No guarantee when/whether Stage two will get finalised before the deadline ( can take from months to years ) most probably making you ineligible for PGWP if it crosses April.

Two stage visa processing was somewhat okay for Fall 2020 where most got away getting the visas on time and still some waiting from March but for Winter 2021 it's very doubtful.
