Hi guys, please how do you process police clearance certificates from countries you have lived in more than 6 months? Is there a form you will fill and send to those countries ? Do you do it for children or adults alone? Is it email we will get from those countries or hard copies ?

Yeah you need do clearance certificates any countries more 6 months
You have to be adults 18 years old up
It’s depends on country some asked for fingerprints and some don’t

Retroactive payments from when you qualify is standard because there is some processing time.

I knew about the second option but was told it might be a long process so I just did not use. I continued buying a private insurance for my relative every 3-4 weeks while waiting for the COPR. Then we got the OHIP from the SO main office relatively smoothly.

I know that I no longer need it because I got COPR but from what companies can people buy the private insurance?

Try this website and scroll down to the country that you need police clearance for: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/medical-police/police-certificates/how.html

If that doesn't work then look at the country's embassy's website.

Your Police clearance needs to have been issued within the past 3 months.

Hi Andy! Yes, I got COPR. Hopefully yours comes through soon! Did you get your Stage 2 requests yet? To be fair, I was told that the gov't could take six weeks or more before reaching out to me for the Stage 2 requests. My timeline for medical, police etc was pretty fast.

That's amazing man, congrats!, it been a pretty long ride for us. I've been here since 2011 too. Yea I sent my stage 2 files in October, they lost the file in the process and we had to resend it to them again in November and they only received it in Dec 7.

I just called CIC and they said they are done with the background checks and are in "Final Review Stage" and processing my criminality. Does anyone knows how long the criminality check is and how soon can i hear back for a final decision.?

Usually background check takes from a week to months
If you been just your home country and Canada it’s more faster

I’m guessing they’re doing second level of background check which is criminality and security check
