September and October 2019 applicants have been getting invites. They are starting with those who have had their tests cancelled so it might be a while before Jan 2020 applicants get theirs

Hi, thank you for your reply. He has the same name as his father. His name has Jr. on it though. His father worked for 30yrs as seaman in oil tankers globally. He is retired now. Do you think this might be the reason why? Thank you again in advance for your response.

I'm just guessing, but from what I have observed on the forum, only some people were getting asked for their fingerprints. Unless they are asking everyone now, the reason could be that their name is common (or at least there are other people with the same name combination), and the fingerprints could be a way of uniquely identifying someone. For example, there'd be dozens if not hundreds of people by the name "John Smith". Anyway, this is just a guess on my part and I could be wrong.

So it's confirmed that December 2019 applicants are getting test invites now? Because on the December 2019 tracker I only see 1 person who has got an invitation for the test which is 1% of the applicants.

This has been clearly mentioned in the test invite letter. A sample of the letter is present in a Facebook group called 'Canadian Citizenship Test' . Please locate this group and join it (I can't share links to FB here) - you'll find the image there.

Since you now know, as a kind advice, please do NOT try and take the test or oath from anywhere outside of Canada.

Thank you for this information! Do you, or anyone else has any idea of how fast they are moving with the test process? I mean are they moving faster or slower than the original process? It would make sense that more people online would be giving the tests daily compared to in-person tests. Just wondering how long it would take for them to reach the January applicants and invite them for the tests.

Lots of people are. But most are in a facebook group though, not here.

cic is yet to invite/finish the 2019 applicants. Very few have been invited this month for online test. So it will take few more weeks/months before they start on 2020 applicants.
Track the 2019 sheet to know how well they are progressing with test invites. Once majority of Nov and Dec 2019 are invited for test then you can expect your Jan2020 to be invited.

Same for me. I applied in January 2020, got AOR in March 2020, and then status changes to In Process in September 2020.

Yes I have seen many people on the Facebook page of Canadian Citizenship Test getting online invites and passing their tests as well.

a friend of mine is a oct 2019 applicant. he has received the letter to attend the test online. He did attend it in december. Hopefully in the next couple of months we should see jan 2020 applicants getting invites

For a person who completes three years in Canada as PR on the 20th of January 2021, can she apply with two years of taxes as she won't file taxes before April?

I called an agent from IRCC today and she told me this may delay the application process and complicates things!
She advised me to apply after filing taxes!
So what is your experience guys?
