Citizenship background check

For the citizenship application, do they ask for a background check from your home country or just for Canada? My wife has been living in Canada since she got her PR. Will they require a background check in the USA too?

Not that I’m aware of for either the application or in the extra documentation email some have gotten before or after the test.

The only time I’ve had to send in a background check from the US was during the PR application. Not for renewing the PR card nor the citizenship application. They haven’t asked a Canadian one either.

I believe you are talking about pcc requirements.
