Guys,
I have applied for US visitor's visa to visit my family almost a year ago and the visa was unapproved. Currently, I am applying for permanent residency for Canada an ran into these questions:

1. Have you been refused refugee status, or an immigrant or permanent resident visa (including a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ) or application to the Provincial Nominee Program) or visitor or temporary resident visa, to Canada or any other country?

2. Have you ever been refused a visa or permit, denied entry or ordered to leave Canada or any other country?

Given my situation, what should the correct answers be?
Are there any differences between question 1 and question 2?

I am really confused!
Please help!

Thank you.

You should answer yes to both questions
and write briefly what happened. Just be honest and tell the truth. That wouldn't automatically lead to a refusal.
