Our application page's background check section has now changed from this:

'We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information '

to this:

'Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check.'

Is this normal? Does it mean something has changed in our application? Not sure if it makes a difference but you can see our timeline in my signature and the progress bar is at 40%.

Edit:

our review of additional documents section has also changed, from 'we are reviewing the additional documents you provided' to 'not applicable'. I'm not sure if that's relevant, hopefully that means they're happy with the new documents?
Ignore the timeline %, it is just ratio of timeline with 6 month.

@people who gave biometrics at Dubai VFS
Was there any additional fee for this centre?
Their websites mention that “there is a service fee of AED 288.75”
P.S I have been checking since 20-25 days, I don’t think Nepal VFS has any available appointment.

People never call each other 'stupid' in Canada, particularly someone they don't know personally. That's really rude of you. I personally think that it is too early to call as well, but I am sure there are agents who are specifically assigned to answering the calls. So it is not like 'oh man, I was in the middle of approving your eligibility stage and I got a stupid call and I had to answer that call, so your file is still pending'. No, it is not like that.

I have two reasons two call -which I don't even have to explain to you but in case you are curious:

- Some people are so lucky, they got their PR within two months and I want to learn whether I will become one of them because I am planning to buy a house. I have a family in Canada. If I don't know if it's gonna take days or months or years, how can I plan my future? And the call gave you strong indicators of whether you will receive it too soon or too late.

- I want to learn whether I pass the eligibility stage or not because when you pass eligibility, your spouse can get BOWP too, plus Ontario's Health Insurance Plan. The only way to learn whether you pass the eligibility stage or not is to CALL. My husband is living here without health insurance right now and it is not damn of your business to call me stupid. Mind your own business. Everyone has a different case.

The only solution is that IRCC should start to reflect 'real progress' on our profiles. Otherwise, we will keep calling or ask for the GCMS notes because I need to learn that I pass the eligibility stage.
Agents who take calls from applicants DO NOT work on applications. Their only job is to pick up calls and talk to applicants.

Yes a bit confusing. As legalfalcon suggested in the last page, it will change few times before ppr. So good signs for you I guess.

Dear October AOR,
It would be really nice if you can update your signature with the current status of your application.
