Information about Visitor visa

They did not asked me for biometrics so I thought may be they are going exempt me from it. I’m confused why they requested for original passport request without biometrics at first place. I have already submitted my employment letter and return to work letter which I got from my employer.
My passport tracking ID is showing that IRCC have received my passport on December 18 and it’s in under process.
But gc key account says your action required.

If your biometrics are recent & have asked for passport, I would wait for passport to be returned.

I didn’t give any biometrics in last 10 years as I remember. Hoping to get my visa without biometrics .

If you haven’t done them in last 10 years then check online. You need biometrics.

Yes I know but why they asked for passport without biometrics. Right now I cannot do anything because they are not booking any appointments for visitor visa. My work permit is expiring in April so I have just 4 months left on my work permit.
