French vs Canadian Masters' is a very subjective call I think. I used French to improve my score from 458 to 474 at the age of 34. But not everyone is comfortable learning a new language - it's an entirely different skillset from comprehending a STEM course for example. And I had a backup plan of enrolling in a 1-yr masters' in Canada in case French didnt work out. It would have been a second masters' for me, but I would have used it to pivot to a different industry that I was always interested in. Plus, it would make one more employable in Canada as well (as would French), considering the network one can build during a good masters' course and the particularly local nature of Canadian industry (higher value given to reputable local universities than to much more reputable foreign ones). 12 months is hardly a long duration and it would have been a nice break from work.

So there's no one size fits all solution here. Just make sure that if you do choose to do a Masters', you do it from a reputable university. Doing it from an immigration oriented fly by night operator is a recipe for disaster.

Ultimately, choose the path that suits you. But certainly don't sit by waiting for the score to drop below 469 - that seems unlikely.

Edit - One further aspect regarding masters' courses - universities in Quebec are largely subsidized by the Quebec government. Many courses are not expensive for even international students and you get a chance to immerse yourself in a francophone culture during your studies. So it might help you both ways. So check that out if you are looking for cost effective masters programs.
Yeah, Quebec's really done great with reducing education costs. And for those interested, there are English language universities in the province; Bishop's, McGill, and Concordia.

Hey after submitting my docs and getting my AOR in December my bank balance dipped below the minimum requirement for a week because of some unavoidable expenses. I did replinish it to bring it above the min requirement within a week. Does this affect things?

It doesn't in anyway. Just hope your application is smooth and no need for ADR for POF. IRCC doesn't know what happens to your account after you submit your application. It's between you and your bank.

Very interesting. Would you be able to share your starting French score and the test you have taken and how much you improved it afterwards? Thanks!

And you know this how? Any official communication to back this up?
Mary decided to give birth to jesus in that day, thats what the bible says. So people usually are off in that day.
additionally, in the past 5 years, there was no draw in these two weeks. Be realistic, i am not trying to annoy anyone or disappoint them, it is what it is.

The problem is with such statements such as "in the past 5 years, there was no draw in these 2 weeks". Well, if you do a quick search, you will note that in 2016, a draw occurred on December 22nd. Perhaps people wouldn't be too upset provided that proper research was done rather than spewing random sentences.

only public holidays in these two weeks are 25 december and 1 january. some offices might also be closed on 24 december but thats very few. So apart from these three days everything is open rest of weeks. If CIC not wanted to have draw this week they would have conducted last week a draw. so my prediction we will see a draw. Lets see what happens.

Just remember that while those may be the only public holidays, this is a time of year when tons of people take annual leave.

Which country is that?

Yeah, I get why people do it, but it's so risky and expensive. There are ways to improve as an FSW and get in that way. I'm glad things worked out that way for me.

That's kind of you, thank you. :) I enjoy helping.

I've not yet got a completed application, but hopefully it's close, cause it's been almost 6 months. They're busy with my background check right now. Medicals expiring in 2 days, so not sure if they'll be extended or I'll have to redo them. Waiting patiently.

How are things for you?
