Hello everyone, I have recently received my letter of admission from a Canadian college, so I will be applying for a study permit.
I have paid my full tuition fee for the 1st year (it's a 3-year program) and housing fees for 1 year at the college residence.
On my newly created bank account, I deposited 60,000 CAD at four different periods in the same month.
the funds come from the 3 Bitcoin I bought in March 2020 when Bitcoin was worth about 4900usd.
I sold half recently when Bitcoin was around 19600usd .
So:
1- how can I prove to the immigration officer this large amount of money in my newly opened account?
2- Is this explanation enough to prove that the money belongs to me?
3- can the payment of the full year's tuition and accommodation fees be used as proof of funds without a bank statement? Or do I have to present both?
Thank you in advance for your responses

hello,

Not degrading you but you shouldn't have to pay the tuition fee for the entire year at least 1 semester should be paid (God forbid but if you visa gets rejected it's gonna be huge trouble)
I can't answer question No. 1 or 2 as I don't have any experience in it
but for 3rd one and the answer is NO because you need to show them the bank statement which shows that you have enough funds to live and study in Canada for the entire year (BTW where are you applying from and Is it Sds or non sds)

if you are a non-SDS student you need to show a bank statement that shows that you have enough funds to live and study in Canada for the entire year
but if you are an SDS student you need to submit GIC which is 10k CAD from that you will get some money each month when you are in Canada along with that you still need to submit a bank statement but no showing the amount of the entire year

Hi Guys, Under SDS, other than a year fee and GIC, whether we have to show parent's ITR and their employment proof ? Please advise.

You can get a GIC. its not necessary for non SDS visa but its an easy way to show your funds are blocked for educational funding

Thanks mate. If the course duration is an academic year, still required to submit above mentioned additional documents such as parent's ITR, employment proof and additional funds for future use ?
