Entering Canada on a work permit

I hope everyone’s doing well.

I’m on a temporary work permit in Canada and would like to visit my immediate family in US. Since I have a valid job offer in Canada, would I be able to enter in Canada without any issues?
Has anyone recently been in a similar situation?

Are you actually working or when does the job start? Currently fine although no guarantees.

Saddens me that all these people are planning to travel when the advice is to remain at home during the holidays. Hope you buy US health insurance that covers covid.
