Increasing chances to succeed TRV for a spouse while PR sponsorship in progress.

Hi!

I've heard that it could be challenging to get a temporary visa for your spouse, especially when you already applied for sponsorship. First question: did somebody succeed in that? Any precedents? Are there any things to consider that might raise the chances to get this type of visa?

Yes, some have certainly succeeded.

Things that can help to get an approval are: demonstrating strong ties to home country (e.g. employment, property ownership, assets), showing previous travel to countries requiring visas (e.g. US, UK), demonstrating the applicant has sufficient funds to pay for their visit.

Things that generally work against someone: not being employed, no property ownership, low / no funds, no previous travel to countries requiring visas, temporary status in the country where they are living now.

Does it matter what to apply first for: sponsorship or temporary visa? The goal is to be together while the sponsorship visa is in progress. I wonder: maybe a better strategy would be to apply for TRV first, arrive and apply for sponsorship inland? Would it increase the chances?

I'm not sure it makes that much of a difference. You can certainly try for the TRV first. The downside of doing this right now is that processing times for TRVs are extremely long. So if you hold off submitting a sponsorship application, you'll end up losing a ton of time without knowing if the TRV is even going to be approved. I would personally submit both the outland application and the TRV now.

hey , I'm in same boat and did apply for visitor and got Biometric request.. In india , VFS are only taking family class and student , don't know how to process further .
