My Work Permit visa expires this December and I have already filed for a extension. My Wife and kid are in India.
I wanted to check if I can apply for a Visitor Visa for them in my current state?

Have you received approval u/s 186(u) temporarily? If yes, then yeah you can go ahead. If not then I don’t recommend it. Please note that those are my personal opinions. Let’s c if someone else can share their views on it.

If your intention is for them to stay long term, you should be applying for your wife's open work permit. Depending on your child's age, more people have been asked to apply for a study permit. Processing is 8+ months for a visitor visa not including time to get written authorization to travel.

Intention is to stay for long term. Would I be able to apply for work permit if my work permit is under implied status?
