I want to immigrate to Canada and work over there. I did Masters from US and worked there for 4 years. Now I am in India. Could you please suggest good immigration consultants who can charge reasonable processing fees?

I spoke to Countrywide visas and Y-axis consultants. Do you have any idea which one of them is good? Or any suggestions from your side?

Before you go that route have you already decided filling out some forms is too complicated for you ?

What CRS score do you get ? You need around 470 plus for EE at the moment.

Have you an IELTS score ?

What is your work background ? Have you checked what NOC maps to your job role ?

Hello Sir,
I got 511 as of now. My job NoC code is 2171.1 I.e Business Analyst. I don't have Canadian degree but I graduated from Chicago. I hold Master's degree in Computer Science from Chicago and worked for Underwriters Labs (US) from 2008 to 2011.

Calculate how many points you have under Express Entry.

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/works.html

https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

You need around 470 points to be selected.

Sorry - I see now that you calculated 511.

That seems too high.

Are you claiming points for having a job offer or something like that?

I don't have any job offer as of now. I've gone through a couple of websites to know each and every step involved in getting the PR. It seems that a huge amount of documentation is required for filing the PR, besides takes around 8 months for the processing. So I'm willing to hire an authorised immigration consultant who can assist and guide me with the same. Could you please suggest any reliable and reasonable consultant in India with the maximum success ratio? Thanks!

Hiring an immigration consultant may not be required. Documentation you need to submit for EE processing is very straight forward and fairly easy to obtain. I recommend start the process by yourself and if you feel you cannot handle then you can hire one. You can save a ton of money just saying.

They are committing about marketing my resume and help me out in getting an employer in Canada within the processing time. It's been a like 8 years since I've been away from IT field so I may need a little bit of learning curve or specialised certification in my field.

@psahu1207 since you have done masters from US and have worked there for a few years, I am assuming:
1. You have basic computer skills
2. English language skills
3. You are familiar with immigration process - at least the fundamentals of immigration

I will strongly suggest you fill out forms by yourself. There is absolutely nothing that a consultant adds in a straightforward case. I guess may be consultants are needed in complex situations - asylum and such. Just start filling out your application and you will find that it is super easy.
For your masters in US, you must have already completed WES education evaluation. See if you can add your US MS degree to the same file.
If you have not stayed only in US and India for more than 6 months in last 10 years, getting a police certificate from these countries is super easy.

If you have completed masters in 2009-10 time frame, I am guessing you are 30+. With just a masters your score of 511 seems high. Please recheck.
You cannot claim any points for work experience in Canada or education experience in Canada - please double check options you chose in CRS calculator.

I can confidently say that the immigration consultants are swindling you by claiming that they will market your resume etc. etc. Immigration consultants are in no position to do that. They will also say that they will apply for province specific nominations etc. But dont fall for that trap. There is nothing an immigration consultant will do that you can do by spending 5 minutes.
Most important steps like appearing for IELTS exam, obtaining police clearance certificate, education evaluation from WES will be done by you - whether or not you go with a consultant. So basically your consultant will just fill in the form which actually takes 10 min.

I had to come back to India in 2011 due to family reasons so I've obtained 8 years of work experience in food & hotel industry owned by my father.

I would stay far away from any agent promising to find you a job in Canada. These are almost always scams.

@santab Yup, I've got all the basic skills but still need to brush up in order to work efficiently in an organization. Also I'll have to work as soon as I reach over there.
I couldn't see any education evaluation process while I was putting my info in CRS calculator. But I'll keep your suggestions in my mind. Thanks a lot!

Below are estimations for each individual
- $1495 (CAD) application processing fees
- $500 (USD) for Medicals (this may vary depending on clinic and location)
- $12960 (CAD) (single person), $16135 (CAD) (+ dependent). This is your amount you dont have to give this to anyone but you are expected to maintain this amount in your bank account through out processing and also while doing your PR landing

You may need 2 to 3 lacs to start the processing and you need to maintain around 7.5 lacs in your bank account for about an year
