Today, I received 2 emails from IRCC for older applications from 2017 and 2018, which were finalized.
You may not have heard from us in a little while. This is normal. Most of the progress on your application happens closer to your estimated completion date.
We send messages to your account if we need something from you. When we do that, we'll also send you an email to this address:

Should I hope that somebody just did something to my account? Of course I don't expect any significant as it is too early for my application, but even if someone touched my file and open my account, I think is a big step.

I don't have any messages and I don't have any significant timeline.
My application received on July 24th 2020 and I received the email with the XEP number.
Most probably doesn't mean anything but I just hope that someone opened my account.

It just a conformation mail asking you to link it with online account using your application number.

I also get the same weird email using my old EE application number with the same email info as you.
I guess this is a system glitch and nothing
It's a glitch. I know someone who received this e-mail yesterday even though she doesn't have any pending applications lol
You can call agent and ask them ...some agents are good and they will say what's the decision made...so you can find few times until you find agent who can disclose this .
