I think this topic has gotten into a debate about COVID in the US compared to countries.

Human Errer - If you want to file a refugee claim in Canada you can do so. However, as stated above your reason is insufficient and you would receive a negative decision and be sent right back to the US.
Actually, the OP cannot claim refugee status in Canada at this time. The US and Canada have put a temporary policy in place due to covid and in order to limit travel across the border. Under this policy, if OP tries to cross into Canada and claim refugee status, he/she will be returned back to the US. OP would need to wait until this temporary policy has been lifted.

That policy only applies if he doesn't meet the STCA or if he crosses illegally.

If you present at the POE, and meet an anchor in the STCA they will process your application and let you in provided you meet the requirements of the Quarantine Act.

OP has also indicated in another thread they're a dual citizen so this whole thread is moot.
