Police report validity

Hi,

I have received the ITA two weeks back and all my documents are ready now to submit. But I do need your help to clarify the validity of my police report. Please refer to below details and let me know your thoughts.

I joined to the express entry pool during February 2020.

So as the IRCC has mentioned "It can take a long time to get police certificates. You should consider asking for them as soon as your profile is in the pool. " in their web portal, therefore I requested a police report on 25th February 2020 from the local authority.

Also the the portal says on police report validity as below,

The police certificate for the country where you currently live:

• must be issued no more than 6 months before the date you submit your application
• must not be expired

Due to the pandemic situation it took about 6 months for the authorities to issue the police report (Issue date - 11th August 2020). The police report does not mention about an expiry date as well.

My question is, assuming I am to submit the documents on 30th November 2020, is this police report still valid for me to submit ?

Also will it be a problem to IRCC Visa Officer since the police report only contains information up to 2020 February (till the day I submitted the application to the local authority) ?

Will they reject the application since the police report does not contain any information after February 2020, which is about 9 months to date?

You can submit this report with your application with an explanation in the LOE. In the meantime, try to get a new PCC from authorities to cover the period missing from your current PCC. Once you get that, submit it via webform.

Hi thank you for the quick response and the way you have suggested makes sense.

I have about 70 days left from the 90 days given by the IRCC to respond.

What is your recommendation

1. whether I have to wait until the latest police report arrives, if not submit on the 89th day? (To display I have given the fullest to get a latest report).

OR

2. If my current police report is valid, I will submit the latest possible (30th November) and as you suggested upload the latest police report via web forms? (I can attach the acknowledge receipt as well given by the authorities for my New police report to LOE and I am asking this because this may speedup the PR process because I am submitting earliest possible)

I hope this will not be a reason for the Visa officer to reject the application

How long is it going to take you to get the new PCC?

If you can get the new PCC before the 90 days expiry of your ITA, then I would suggest to wait. However you should not wait till the last day, so keep a buffer of few days( 3-5 days ideally). If it is gonna take longer, then submit now with an explanation as per option 2 above.

Last time it took 6 months for me to get the police report.

Do you see any invalidity of my current police report, since the,

• issue date is - 11th August 2020 (Still under 6 months)
• requested date - 25th February 2020
