Haha. You are right. She keeps eating my mind to help her. I don’t know what should be done. As a best friend, the least I can do is get more information from the people here who have applied their files. Their lawyer just keeps telling them to not contact IRCC in any ways. She won’t let them raise a webform. Her husband is trying to reach IRCC (even though lawyer strictly told them not to contact IRCC) but no luck yet. I am just trying to get a hopeful answer to help her. I hope you get my point. All this is taking a toll on her mind. I just want some helpful answer so that I can keep her sane. The thing is it’s a long process and when there was wrong country of birth on file, she started being anxious. I just want to help my friend that’s all.
Okay, first: it would be a bit weird for them to send pre-arrival services if there were not medical results and it wasn't basically approved. That's not a guarantee of course.
2) She / her sponsor can order GCMS notes. That's something they concrete they can do. I don't believe it has to be done through the representative/lawyer, i.e. they can do it anyway.
3) At some point she/her sponsor will have to decide whether to trust the lawyer or not. Right now, it seems like the lawyer wants them to stop doing stuff and stop bothering them because it's not helping and has no positive effect, and I suspect the lawyer is worried they'll do something stupid and make things worse. (Ordering gcms notes should not, neither should calling and asking for information. But I can understand where the lawyer is coming from).
I have no opinion or knowledge of this lawyer. There are good ones and mediocre ones and bad ones. But the truth is the process can take a long time and calling every day does little good. Usually doesn't hurt either but it's not impossible they would do something stupid (give wrong information or something). I can't tell whether your friend has a good reason to worry or not. Probably not if she got pre-arrival services. But from the perspective of the lawyer, all of her extra questions may seem off-base and wrong and spending extra time to calm her down doesn't help anything and doesn't make them any money - they're running a business. If she thinks the lawyer isn't looking after her interests, she can fire the lawyer and do it herself.
But from the outside, seems to me like she is torturing you and the lawyer for nothing. I could be wrong though.
