Hello,
Hope everyone is well and safe. I am stuck in a rather tight spot in my immigration process. Currently, I am working full time and have a valid post grad work permit which expires on the 14th of January 2021. I just applied for my MPNP and have an existing express entry profile with a total CRS score of 452, meeting the minimum criteria for Canadian Experience Class and Federal Skilled worker.

The problem is that my work permit expires in two months and I am worried that I won't be receiving my nomination before my permit expires. I am also not able to apply for a bridging work permit until I either receive my nomination through MPNP or get invited through the Federal Skilled Worker or Canadian exp class. I have to leave Canada by the 14th of January,2021 and I am wondering what options I have that will allow me to stay in Canada if I don't receive my nomination till the 14th.

And if I do have to leave, how does that affect my MPNP and my express entry profile.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

You could apply for a closed work permit but with an LMIA your CRS score would also increase by 50 points, so you could likely apply for PR through the Canadian Experience Class and forget about MPNP.

Depending on your NOC, LMIA processing takes months. As the employer has to develop a market assessment plan and prove that they can’t hire locally how hiring you will enable them to grow their business and hire more Canadians. Then if there is a positive LMIA, you apply for a closed work permit. This too will take months.
