Hello Members

Do you meet the travel restrictions? Getting asylum from India is quite difficult. You'll need to show that you have tried to relocate within your home country since that is one of the top reasons all asylum applicants are refused.

Yeah that's why I'm asking! if anybody have experience reached through transit
If people are able to fly into Canada it seems as though initial processing and getting a work permit is taking longer. The asylum claim process hasn't changed there are just delays due to covid. Do you have a TRV?

Have you consulted a few Canadian immigration lawyers about your chances of getting asylum? Chances are not great for citizen of India and you'll definitely need to show you tried to relocate in another area of India. Having a failed asylum claim has a lot of negative consequences so you should make sure you have a good chance of approval before applying. Even if you are approved there are negative consequences like family having difficulty visiting you in Canada and of course you can't visit India for around 5+ years.

Yes I have valid TRV.
As long as you have a valid TRV and fall under a travel exemption, you can certainly come here and claim asylum.

A travel itinerary like that could raise suspicions. If you have a TRV why do you need to transit via Mexico from India?

Not a bro first of all but Indian citizen have a pretty low approval rate for asylum. There are also some common reasons why asylum claimants from various countries are refused like not having relocated within their own country. Applying for asylum is actually quite difficult and if denied you will have difficulty travelling to many other countries. I suggested that you consult with some Canadian immigration lawyers about your chances of approval so if your chances of approval are low you can work towards other ways to immigrate to Canada.

OP is coming from the UAE. Transit through North America is normal for this kind of itinerary.

Misunderstood I thought they meant they were travelling through Mexico. I find if every surprising that the transit visa would have been approved. Normally transit trough Canada from India (or perhaps OP is living in the UAE) to a country like Mexico, Latin America or some Caribbean is a red flag. There are also many cheaper and closer vacation destinations if one is in the Middle East or Asia.
