Hello,

I have applied for a coop work permit along with my study permit. There was an option proof of work required in the study.

So, if my coop work permit gets rejected, then will I get a study permit, or study permit will also get rejected ?

Need your help guys.....................

Did you fill a separate application form for the co op? The Work history is a normal requirement for study permit applications.

I am assuming your program requires you to do a co-op and that it was written on your acceptance letter. You may also have other documents in regard of this. Hence your application for both.

Your co-op permit is dependent on your study permit not the other way round. So a decision has to be made on your study permit first and then the decision of your co-op permit will be considered based on the final decision of your study permit.

For instance, if your program requires co-op and you made the application for a study permit and Co-op at the same time. Once you meet the requirements of both, you will get approved for both at the same time.

If you don't meet the requirements for a study permit that means you automatically also don't meet the requirements for a co-op. (Co-op is a part of your program/studies)

If you don't meet the requirements for co-op but do for Study permit, then only your study permit will be approved.

Got it Thanks for the reply. This post was informative.

Actually coop isn’t mentioned on the offer letter. Coop is optional, though it is mentioned on my program’s website.

So I have taken the content from my programs website itself to provide evidence of coop and attached it with my LOA.

Generally they ask for school letter to issue co-op permit. Optional co-op on website may not work. But in any case, this won't affect your study permit application in any way, even if they decide not to issue you co-op permit. Once you start the program, you can then apply for co-op permit after your school gives you an official letter.
