Hi guys, I applied for the study permit online while I am residing in the U.S. as F1 student. Now, I want to go back to my home country but I still didn't get my visa or any passport request. Can I send my passport to the VFS in my home country to get the study permit when I receive the passport request later? Thanks

In exact same situation as you, we also need to inform IRCC about address change right?

Based on the information provided here
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/account/where-submit-passport.html
We need to submit the passport to the country where we specified as residence country during the application.

Any ideas what to do if I have to leave my current country of residence?
Just send a webform that you changed your address. Your scenario is too common. Once u r approved, u ll get ppr request for stamping in local office.

Thank you! I guess I will do that.
Do you think this will delay my application since they will have to change the office that is handling my application to a local one?

I have applied and given my biometrics in the US, but submitted my passport in the VAC in my home country. I just had to pay additional fee for doing so. You should be able to request specific instructions from the VAC that is closest to you as to what documents/payments to submit.

That's very helpful info. So, did you contact your local VAC office to submit the passport?
