STUDY
Hello everyone,

I have limited budget for my study in Canada. I can show around 25,000 CAD in my account. As far as I know, this budget is not enough for 2 years programs.

Most of the 1 year certificate programs are around 15,000$ so, I think I should choose one of the certificate program related to Business Administration because I already have bachelor degree on Economics outside of Canada.

So, what are you guys thinking about my situation, should I choose 1 year certificate program in Atlantic Canada or any other province where getting PR is easier, if I do this, what is my chance for getting PR ?

If the costs are concerned, there are also universities like Memorial University of Newfoundland which are affordable. A two year masters program might cost you as good as what a 1 year diploma at a community college would cost you in Ontario or BC.

Though Newfoundland and Labrador wouldn't be the first choice province for everyone, looking at its location, weather and availability of part time jobs.

You need to show only enough to pay for the first year + 10000 CAD. But, still, not a good idea because it seems you will struggle for the second year. I personally believe that you need to go for a 1 year course, because you barely meet the requirements for that.

$10,000 a year will not be enough to live off of in major urban cities in Canada. Rent in most major cities, even if shared, is over $600 a month. That is before food, transit, clothing, and money for activities, clothing, toiletries etc. Newfoundland is amazing. Many smaller cities are a great way to embed yourself in community and meet people for jobs. It may not be the most obvious choice but if you are determined to find a pathway for PR it's smart and not what many others would choose, in this case that is a good thing.
